Job description
Job responsibilities:
- Provide residents with a high standard of holistic care and promote their independence
- Maintain client confidentiality and dignity
- Report to nurses on the well-being of residents and their changing needs
- Promote and practice the ethos of the nursing home and ensure a safe environment for residents, visitors and staff
- Ensure residents living areas and bedrooms are kept in a neat and hygienic state
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Clinical Nurse Manager or Person in Charge
The ideal candidate will have:
- A QQI/ FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Health Care Support / Care of the Older Person or an equivalent Health qualification
- 1-year experience in a nursing home setting and/or working with elderly persons
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and able to work on own initiative
- A high standard of English both spoken and written
- Full flexibility as one must be available to work day, night and weekend shifts on a full time basis
All successful candidates will be subject to vetting by the National Vetting Bureau.
