The Role:
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with excellent communication skills who thrives on coaching, mentoring and leading a team to always challenge and better themselves while ensuring to maintain respect, trust and integrity. The Aquarian Health Store offers the successful candidate an opportunity to apply and further their knowledge of products, management/leadership, nutrition, customer service/sales and much more. This challenging and exciting position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to constantly learn and improve themselves as well as the health of our customers.
You will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring the very best customer service, stock control and that your team are happy and know exactly what they need to do.
The manager will ensure their product knowledge is up to date and that their understanding of what every customer needs is second to none. You will benefit from the support of a business owner with two decades of experience every step of the way, but ultimately your store is your own - yours to take accountability for, be proud of and drive forward.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall performance and running of the store
- Ensuring a culture of excellent customer service is maintained
- Planning and prioritising workloads and delegating accordingly
- Recruitment, scheduling and managing performance of team as required
- Leading a highly-effective team in day-to-day operations, training and coaching the team to ensure growth, development and performance excellence
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement amongst the team
- Ensuring high store standards of cleanliness, merchandising and compliance with health & safety
- Effective merchandising and display of product offering
- Stock ordering and control (some manual handling will be required)
- Building solid working relationships with suppliers and agents
- Keeping the Director up to date on all aspects of the business
The Ideal Person:
- A real & demonstrable passion for nutrition and promoting and living a healthy lifestyle is essential
- Will clearly demonstrate a real passion and strong knowledge of the health food industry
- The candidate will be a proud foodie who loves to explore and design new recipes
- Can show real empathy and interest in our customers needs
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- A desire to work as part of a team to generate fresh and innovative ideas
- Effective leadership and the ability to motivate others
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and improve
- Minimum five years retail experience
- Previous leadership experience in a retail environment is essential
- Have a keen eye for details and see the difference that makes a difference
- Previous health food store experience is a distinct advantage
- Candidate should be comfortable with manual handling
- Relative qualifications are highly beneficial (i.e. nutrition, naturopathy etc)
- We can only consider applications from candidates with a proven track record in retail
- European language/s are an advantage, an understanding of German is a plus
